Basics of Plastics registration now open

Registration is now open for the Basics of Plastics, a primer in what the plastics industry and processing are all about. This one-day event, aimed at people new to the industry, or who need to round out their grasp of the industry, is being held at the Rogers Campus in Brampton, Ont., on April 10.

It is being presented by Plastics in Canada magazine in conjunction with The Plastics Touchpoint Group (Thornhill, Ont.). PTG is a consultancy and teaching organization headed by Paul Waller, who has 30 years’ experience in plastics processing, machinery sales and in training workers around the world to use plastics technologies. The seminar includes an industry overview, an outline of polymer chemistry for non-chemists, tooling, a look at each of the main plastics processes used today, and current environmental issues. Attendees will receive a book-format copy of course materials to keep. Lunch and coffee breaks are included in the fee, which is just $195. A registration form and the full program can be found at www.plasticsincanada.com, at the top of the home page.
