Bottom Line on Energy Management

Two energy efficiency workshops for Windsor manufacturers using 250,000 kWh per year of electricity have been organized to help them take control of their energy costs.

Workshop No. 1, Spot the Energy Savings, will be held on October 17, and will help users recognize low-cost and no-cost energy saving opportunities, and understand Ontario’s electricity market and how it affects billing. The workshop will also help attendees calculate electricity consumption for specific devices and analyze electricity bills and demand profile data.

Workshop No. 2, Monitoring and Organizing for Action, will be held next day, on October 18, and will lead energy users in discussions so they can monitor and analyze energy use to detect changes in consumption, quantify savings achieved and understand the essential elements of any energy management plan. The session also includes computer-based energy analysis and tools for every participant.

Both workshops will be held at the Caboto Club at 2175 Parent Ave. in Windsor, Ont. from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Cost is $100 per session or $180 for both. Interested parties should contact Nancy Creighton, Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship at(519)252-1704, or email Sandra Smith at the Windsor Essex Development commission at: sandras@choosewindsoressex.com.
