Makino launches new EDM blog

Makino (Auburn Hills, Mich.) is launching a weblog for all EDM users at www.EDMmatters.com. The blog will cover topics such as EDM technology, machine design, consumable use, and other aspects of electrical discharge machining.

This blog is the company's second blog, the first being the HEAT Blog started in 2006. This blog will take over for the HEAT blog, though its content will include many topics related to EDM, not just a particular technological advance.

Jeff Kiszonas of Makino will post thoughts on EDM technologies, case studies, customer challenges, and other issues related to EDM on the blog every few days. The format also allows outside users to post comments or ask questions, to be responded to by Kiszonas or one of Makino's other applications engineers.

In addition to chronological postings, individual topics of interest will be categorized. These include ways to increase EDM speed, improve surface finish, and many other topics.
