Wage & Business Survey
The formation of the Federation brings to the industry the opportunity to participate in one, comprehensive, annual survey of the wages and salaries paid by this industry nationally, plus a review of the business conditions in the industry for that particular year.

The survey is issued annually for input in the fall with results available before the end of that year.

The Wage & Business Survey is acknowledged as a valuable instrument within our industry.  In 2004 there were 128 participants, making this a survey that is truly representative of the industry.

Participation in the survey is only available to those who are members of the Federation’s constituent organizations, i.e., CAMM, CTMA, CPMA and CPIA’s Mould Makers Council.   The survey is provided to members as a service of their associations and there is no cost to participate or receive the results.

Results of the survey are available ONLY to those who participate.  This survey is never sold or published for general consumption.

This survey is now in a more efficient electronic reporting format with built in password protected confidentiality features.  The results are issued by mid-December of each year.  Those not wanting to use this new format can still submit their data via a paper copy, however, the final report, using this method, will only be available in mid-January.  The survey will be sent to Federation members by e-mail unless a paper copy is requested.

Le sondage de 2005 sera disponible en français.  Les deux versions en anglais et français seront envoyées aux entreprises au Québec.

The 2005 survey will be available in a French version.  Both English and French forms will be sent to Quebec companies.

Highlights of the 2004 Survey
  • 66% of respondents purchase equipment, services or source work from other members
  • 57% of respondents sell equipment, services or contract work to other members
  • 128 companies participated in the survey covering 16,365 employees
  • 94% of member companies are non-union shops
